For three generations, we have been running the Hotel Arc-en-ciel with the aim of preserving what has stood the test of time whilst investing responsibly in the future. As a family-run hotel, we are committed not only to the well-being of our guests, but also to treating our environment, our staff and our region with respect.

Through a wide range of measures, both large and small, we are taking responsibility – for today and for future generations.

We are Swisstainable.

We are part of the Swisstainable sustainability programme and are classified at Level II.

The Swisstainable programme brings together businesses and organisations across the entire Swiss tourism sector.

By participating, we commit to continuous sustainable business development, implement measures in the field of sustainability and actively contribute to a more sustainable Swiss tourism industry.

People are at the centre of everything we do – our employees, our guests and our partners.

Family-style company culture

Fair working conditions, equal opportunities and a respectful working environment are a matter of course for us. Equal pay for work of equal value is just as much a part of our company culture as promoting long-term cooperation.

Ecological Sustainability

Protecting our natural resources is close to our hearts. Through targeted investments, regional partnerships and the conscious use of resources, we are developing our hotel to be more sustainable step by step.

Quality from the region

Freshness, quality and local sourcing go hand in hand for us. That is why we source the vast majority of our food from producers and suppliers in the region.

Whether meat, dairy products, bread, vegetables, fruit, trout or ice cream – we rely on short transport routes, seasonal produce and long-standing partnerships with regional businesses. Where possible, we avoid sea fish and prefer sustainable alternatives from Switzerland.

Food Save Management

With the Food Save Management programme from United Against Waste, we are actively committed to combating food waste.

By systematically recording and analysing food losses, we identify potential for optimisation and implement targeted measures to reduce food waste.

Sustainable infrastructure

Since 2025, our environmentally friendly Biopool has complemented our offering and combines natural bathing comfort with state-of-the-art water treatment. At the same time, thanks to our photovoltaic system, we generate part of our electricity ourselves.

The comprehensive energy-efficient renovation of our façade will further improve the energy efficiency of our building and reduce energy consumption in the long term.

Responsibility for the Region

For generations, we have been very closely connected with the Saanenland. That is why we are committed to strong regional value creation and, together with our local partners, support sustainable tourism in our home region.

Strong regional roots

Wherever possible, we work with regional craftspeople and businesses, service providers and partner companies. Whether for renovations, maintenance work or the further development of our hotel – we rely on the know-how and quality of companies from the region.

Cooperation with Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus

As a partner of Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus, we support the destination's sustainability strategy.

The Gstaad tourism destination iscertified as Swisstainable Level III – leading” and therefore stands for comprehensive and verified commitment across environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Together, we promote responsible tourism with long-term added value for guests, staff and the region.

Travelling Sustainably

A sustainable stay begins with the journey there. That is why we want to offer our guests comfortable and environmentally friendly mobility – from a relaxed journey by train to straightforward travel on site.

A relaxed stay starts with good planning.

Through our participation in the programme OK:GO from «Pro Infirmis», we provide comprehensive information on accessibility at our property. In this way, we support people with individual needs in planning their stay. Transparent information helps our guests to make their journey self-determined and comfortable.

With the guest card, our guests benefit from free use of public transport in the Gstaad holiday region.
